Who Is World's Oldest Blogger?

Blogging is fun once you get the hang of it and specially when you are blogging about your interest, your passion.. there is no limit. Blogging is not limited to an age. There are bloggers as young as age 12 and as old as 109!!..

So who is the world's oldest blogger?

Some says that it was Australia's great-great-grandmother Olive Riley, the world's oldest blogger, who died on July 15, aged 108 or some says it was Ruth Hamilton, of Orlando, Fla., USA, who passed away on Jan. 18, three months before what would have been her 110th birthday.

But both of these bloggers are died and now we have the world's oldest living blogger who is living in Florida. (wow looks like florida is making more older bloggers than any other place)

3 Tactics to Increase the Number of Retweets on Your Blog - DailyBlogTips

First of all you need to keep in mind that only a small percentage of people who are coming across your post will take the time to retweet it (or Stumble it, Digg it, email it to a friend and so on). This comes from the fact that people are busy, lazy, or unaware about the feature in question.

For example, I noticed that on some of my posts the retweets to views ratio is around 1/100. So for every 100 views that my posts get, one reader will take the time to retweet it. I would guess that your ratio is close to that. For some people it will be 0,5%, for others as high as 3%, but it will always be a small percentage no matter what.

If you want to get a substantial increase in the average retweets you get per post, therefore, aim to increase your traffic.

That being said, there are some tactics that you can use to increase the retweet ratio on your blog without necessarily increasing your traffic. And keep in mind that these tactics also work for other purposes (e.g., if you want people to subscribe to your RSS feed, to download your ebook and so on).

1. Educate

As I mentioned before, many people will not retweet your posts because they are not familiar with that feature. They might not know Twitter, and even if they do they might not know what a retweet is.

If want more retweets, you could teach your audience about Twitter and retweets. Write a post on the topic, include screenshots, explain the benefits of using those tools and so on.

2. Emphasize

If you want people to do something, you got ask them. This is one of the golden rules of marketing.

If you want more retweets, say so. Practically speaking you could position your retweet button in a more visible position, and you could also put a message close to it saying: "Liked this post? Please help to spread the word by retweeing it!".

3. Reciprocate

If you want people to help you, help them out first. If you want more retweets, retweet more posts from other bloggers.

You could also be frank with this tactic. That is, you could contact some of your friends by email and mention that you will start retweeting their posts, and asking if they would be willing to do the same.

10 reason's why PCs crash

Almost everybody in life may have gone through the problem i am describing here, so as when the problems comes their solutions also comes in the picture so we are discussing about some problems and their solutions.

Fatal error: the system has become unstable or is busy," it says. "Enter to return to Windows or press Control-Alt-Delete to restart your computer. If you do this you will lose any unsaved information in all open applications."You have just been struck by the Blue Screen of Death. Anyone who uses Microsoft Windows will be familiar with this. What can you do? More importantly, how can you prevent it happening?

1 Hardware conflict

The number one reason why Windows crashes is hardware conflict. Each hardware device communicates to other devices through an interrupt request channel (IRQ). These are supposed to be unique for each device.

For example, a printer usually connects internally on IRQ 7. The keyboard usually uses IRQ 1 and the floppy disk drive IRQ 6. Each device will try to hog a single IRQ for itself.

If there are a lot of devices, or if they are not installed properly, two of them may end up sharing the same IRQ number. When the user tries to use both devices at the same time, a crash can happen. The way to check if your computer has a hardware conflict is through the following route:

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Device Manager.

Often if a device has a problem a yellow '!' appears next to its description in the Device Manager. Highlight Computer (in the Device Manager) and press Properties to see the IRQ numbers used by your computer. If the IRQ number appears twice, two devices may be using it.

Sometimes a device might share an IRQ with something described as 'IRQ holder for PCI steering'. This can be ignored. The best way to fix this problem is to remove the problem device and reinstall it.

Sometimes you may have to find more recent drivers on the internet to make the device function properly. A good resource is www.driverguide.com. If the device is a soundcard, or a modem, it can often be fixed by moving it to a different slot on the motherboard (be careful about opening your computer, as you may void the warranty).

When working inside a computer you should switch it off, unplug the mains lead and touch an unpainted metal surface to discharge any static electricity.

To be fair to Mcft, the problem with IRQ numbers is not of its making. It is a legacy problem going back to the first PC designs using the IBM 8086 chip. Initially there were only eight IRQs. Today there are 16 IRQs in a PC. It is easy to run out of them. There are plans to increase the number of IRQs in future designs.

2 Bad Ram

Ram (random-access memory) problems might bring on the blue screen of death with a message saying Fatal Exception Error. A fatal error indicates a serious hardware problem. Sometimes it may mean a part is damaged and will need replacing.

But a fatal error caused by Ram might be caused by a mismatch of chips. For example, mixing 70-nanosecond (70ns) Ram with 60ns Ram will usually force the computer to run all the Ram at the slower speed. This will often crash the machine if the Ram is overworked.

One way around this problem is to enter the BIOS settings and increase the wait state of the Ram. This can make it more stable. Another way to troubleshoot a suspected Ram problem is to rearrange the Ram chips on the motherboard, or take some of them out. Then try to repeat the circumstances that caused the crash. When handling Ram try not to touch the gold connections, as they can be easily damaged.

Parity error messages also refer to Ram. Modern Ram chips are either parity (ECC) or non parity (non-ECC). It is best not to mix the two types, as this can be a cause of trouble.

EMM386 error messages refer to memory problems but may not be connected to bad Ram. This may be due to free memory problems often linked to old Dos-based programmes.

3 BIOS settings

Every motherboard is supplied with a range of chipset settings that are decided in the factory. A common way to access these settings is to press the F2 or delete button during the first few seconds of a boot-up.

Once inside the BIOS, great care should be taken. It is a good idea to write down on a piece of paper all the settings that appear on the screen. That way, if you change something and the computer becomes more unstable, you will know what settings to revert to.

A common BIOS error concerns the CAS latency. This refers to the Ram. Older EDO (extended data out) Ram has a CAS latency of 3. Newer SDRam has a CAS latency of 2. Setting the wrong figure can cause the Ram to lock up and freeze the computer's display.

Mcft Windows is better at allocating IRQ numbers than any BIOS. If possible set the IRQ numbers to Auto in the BIOS. This will allow Windows to allocate the IRQ numbers (make sure the BIOS setting for Plug and Play OS is switched to 'yes' to allow Windows to do this.).

4 Hard disk drives

After a few weeks, the information on a hard disk drive starts to become piecemeal or fragmented. It is a good idea to defragment the hard disk every week or so, to prevent the disk from causing a screen freeze. Go to

* Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk Defragmenter

This will start the procedure. You will be unable to write data to the hard drive (to save it) while the disk is defragmenting, so it is a good idea to schedule the procedure for a period of inactivity using the Task Scheduler.

The Task Scheduler should be one of the small icons on the bottom right of the Windows opening page (the desktop).

Some lockups and screen freezes caused by hard disk problems can be solved by reducing the read-ahead optimisation. This can be adjusted by going to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System Icon-Performance-File System-Hard Disk.

Hard disks will slow down and crash if they are too full. Do some housekeeping on your hard drive every few months and free some space on it. Open the Windows folder on the C drive and find the Temporary Internet Files folder. Deleting the contents (not the folder) can free a lot of space.

Empty the Recycle Bin every week to free more space. Hard disk drives should be scanned every week for errors or bad sectors. Go to

* Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-ScanDisk

Otherwise assign the Task Scheduler to perform this operation at night when the computer is not in use.

5 Fatal OE exceptions and VXD errors

Fatal OE exception errors and VXD errors are often caused by video card problems.

These can often be resolved easily by reducing the resolution of the video display. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-Display-Settings

Here you should slide the screen area bar to the left. Take a look at the colour settings on the left of that window. For most desktops, high colour 16-bit depth is adequate.

If the screen freezes or you experience system lockups it might be due to the video card. Make sure it does not have a hardware conflict. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Device Manager

Here, select the + beside Display Adapter. A line of text describing your video card should appear. Select it (make it blue) and press properties. Then select Resources and select each line in the window. Look for a message that says No Conflicts.

If you have video card hardware conflict, you will see it here. Be careful at this point and make a note of everything you do in case you make things worse.

The way to resolve a hardware conflict is to uncheck the Use Automatic Settings box and hit the Change Settings button. You are searching for a setting that will display a No Conflicts message.

Another useful way to resolve video problems is to go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Performance-Graphics

Here you should move the Hardware Acceleration slider to the left. As ever, the most common cause of problems relating to graphics cards is old or faulty drivers (a driver is a small piece of software used by a computer to communicate with a device).

Look up your video card's manufacturer on the internet and search for the most recent drivers for it.

6 Viruses

Often the first sign of a virus infection is instability. Some viruses erase the boot sector of a hard drive, making it impossible to start. This is why it is a good idea to create a Windows start-up disk. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs

Here, look for the Start Up Disk tab. Virus protection requires constant vigilance.

A virus scanner requires a list of virus signatures in order to be able to identify viruses. These signatures are stored in a DAT file. DAT files should be updated weekly from the website of your antivirus software manufacturer.

An excellent antivirus programme is McAfee VirusScan by Network Associates ( www.nai.com). Another is Norton AntiVirus 2000, made by Symantec ( www.symantec.com).

7 Printers

The action of sending a document to print creates a bigger file, often called a postscript file.

Printers have only a small amount of memory, called a buffer. This can be easily overloaded. Printing a document also uses a considerable amount of CPU power. This will also slow down the computer's performance.

If the printer is trying to print unusual characters, these might not be recognised, and can crash the computer. Sometimes printers will not recover from a crash because of confusion in the buffer. A good way to clear the buffer is to unplug the printer for ten seconds. Booting up from a powerless state, also called a cold boot, will restore the printer's default settings and you may be able to carry on.

8 Software

A common cause of computer crash is faulty or badly-installed software. Often the problem can be cured by uninstalling the software and then reinstalling it. Use Norton Uninstall or Uninstall Shield to remove an application from your system properly. This will also remove references to the programme in the System Registry and leaves the way clear for a completely fresh copy.

The System Registry can be corrupted by old references to obsolete software that you thought was uninstalled. Use Reg Cleaner by Jouni Vuorio to clean up the System Registry and remove obsolete entries. It works on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE (Second Edition), Windows Millennium Edition (ME), NT4 and Windows 2000.

Read the instructions and use it carefully so you don't do permanent damage to the Registry. If the Registry is damaged you will have to reinstall your operating system. Reg Cleaner can be obtained from www.jv16.org

Often a Windows problem can be resolved by entering Safe Mode. This can be done during start-up. When you see the message "Starting Windows" press F4. This should take you into Safe Mode.

Safe Mode loads a minimum of drivers. It allows you to find and fix problems that prevent Windows from loading properly.

Sometimes installing Windows is difficult because of unsuitable BIOS settings. If you keep getting SUWIN error messages (Windows setup) during the Windows installation, then try entering the BIOS and disabling the CPU internal cache. Try to disable the Level 2 (L2) cache if that doesn't work.

Remember to restore all the BIOS settings back to their former settings following installation.

9 Overheating

Central processing units (CPUs) are usually equipped with fans to keep them cool. If the fan fails or if the CPU gets old it may start to overheat and generate a particular kind of error called a kernel error. This is a common problem in chips that have been overclocked to operate at higher speeds than they are supposed to.

One remedy is to get a bigger better fan and install it on top of the CPU. Specialist cooling fans/heatsinks are available from www.computernerd.com or www.coolit.com

CPU problems can often be fixed by disabling the CPU internal cache in the BIOS. This will make the machine run more slowly, but it should also be more stable.

10 Power supply problems

With all the new construction going on around the country the steady supply of electricity has become disrupted. A power surge or spike can crash a computer as easily as a power cut.

If this has become a nuisance for you then consider buying a uninterrupted power supply (UPS). This will give you a clean power supply when there is electricity, and it will give you a few minutes to perform a controlled shutdown in case of a power cut.

It is a good investment if your data are critical, because a power cut will cause any unsaved data to be lost.

New Opera Logo

I've long been a slave to the underdog browser Mozilla but sometime i use another browser known as Opera for testing purpose and checking the layout compatibility of my website.

While its market share may not be the greatest (though it does very

well with alternative devices), it's served me well the last few years,

staying fast and featured-packed.

Opera logoThe logo sucks though. Really. It's terrible. Firefox has a great logo, designed by Jon Hicks, as does Safari, Konqueror, Chrome and even IE.

But Opera's has always been an also-ran logo - too lopsided to hang out

in the dock, too simple to invogorate the imagination, too un-browsery

to evoke thoughts of zipping down the information superhighway

consuming content at breakneck speeds.

People have talked about it before. Some have suggested and designed alternatives.

However, the people at Opera (now including the aforementioned Jon Hicks, who credited Oleg Melnychuk with the new icon design) have listened and finally released a new logo. It's still not the greatest logo out there, but at least it isn't lopsided in the dock any more.

Swine flu kills three more, India’s toll reaches 78 (Lead)

New Delhi, Aug 27 (IANS) Swine flu claimed three more lives Thursday, taking India's toll to 78, as health officials maintained that most of the deaths occurred because the patients reported late for treatment.
R.K. Srivastava, director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), said one death each was reported from Bangalore, Nashik and Pune.

At least 123 people tested positive for the Influenza A (H1N1) virus Thursday, taking the total number affected with the contagious disease to 3,396, he added.

"We decided to do a limited analysis of death cases. So we collected case sheets of 30 random victims from seven affected states and did a medical analysis on them. The prime reason for death is people are coming late for treatment. The study has reasserted it," Srivastava told reporters.

He said the study also showed that most of those who died were in the age group of 14 to 44 years. "Most of these deaths are in the young productive age."

"Most of the people who have died came late to the hospitals and died on the fifth day of treatment. The most common symptoms were excessive cough and breathlessness," he added.

Srivastava said in most of the deaths, the infection had spread widely in the chest and H1N1 pneumonitis had kicked in.

Swine flu cases are bracketed in three categories - those who had mild flu-like symptoms, those with high fever, and those with chest congestion and other flu-like symptoms.

"Most deaths are of those who fall in the last category," Srivastava added.

He said those falling in the second and third categories should immediately go to the identified health facility, while those in the first category could go to a private hospital.

"The best way is to report it early so there is better redressal and treatment chance," he added.

However, he clarified that the study was in its nascent stage.

"Analysis will have to be compared with other positive cases before ascertaining a clear trend because the sample size is still small," Srivastava added.

He said the emphasis was earlier on providing testing facilities, but now it is focused on capacity building, diagnosis and treatment.

When asked whether the union health ministry was satisfied with the state government's work, he said: "Health is a state subject."

However, he said that if the health ministry was happy with the state-level capacity building to deal with swine flu spread, then there would have been no meeting with the state authorities.

"The centre's job is not just to show dissatisfaction but provide coordination and interventions when needed," he added.

Srivastava said they are also examining the clinical behaviour of the virus. Initial findings have shown that while earlier the disease was mild and the person would recover soon, now its behaviour has changed.

"The disease is more likely to stay and worsen. The disease came four months ago and it is no longer novel anymore, so states should make efforts and focus on building capacity and infrastructure for treatment," he added.

Shiv Lal, the director of National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which was earlier known as National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD), said: "About 16 private labs will be assisting in the testing of the H1N1 and we have identified more government centres."

These new testing centres are - Defence Research and Development Establishment (DRDO), Gwalior, Rajiv Gandhi Center for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram and National Institute of Immunology in New Delhi.

He said in the meeting between union Health Minister Ghualam Nabi Azad and the state health ministers Aug 21, it was found that the northeast states do not have adequate infrastructure to tackle the problem.

"So we have sent six ventilators to northeastern states - two each for Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland," he added.

He said since the seven northeastern states have no testing centres, they have asked the state public health authorities to coordinate with the Kolkata and Pune NCDC centres.

Fire breaks out at Google in London

LONDON (BNO NEWS) — A fire broke out at Google's UK headquarters in London on Thursday afternoon, officials told BNO News. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

The 6-story building is located at Buckingham Palace Road, near the Victoria Place Shopping Centre. "We were called in at 1.53 p.m. (local time)," a fire brigade spokesman said. He added that the fire broke out on the fifth floor.

A total of six fire engines and 25 firefighters are on the scene to battle the fire. The spokesman described the fire as "not very large." As of 3 p.m. UK time, the fire was still burning.

Both Buckingham Palace Road and Elizabeth Street have been closed as firefighters work to extinguish the fire, a police official said. The building has been evacuated.

Witnesses posted photos of the fire to the social networking website Twitter. One photo, posted by Jon Swaine, showed flames shooting from the roof of the building, others showed only smoke.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

NASA delays Discovery launch

Washington, Aug 27 (DPA) NASA has delayed the launch of the space shuttle Discovery by 24 hours to allow more time to review data about a suspect valve in the liquid hydrogen fuel tank, officials said Thursday.
NASA earlier this week postponed a Tuesday launch to the early hours of Friday morning after detecting a problem with the fill and drain valve. The latest plan is to proceed with the launch about midnight Friday (0400 GMT Saturday).

NASA said more time was needed to determine whether the problem lies with the valve or a gauge that was showing the valve to be open when it was supposed to be closed.

Fuel valve problems have dogged recent shuttle launches as the ageing craft and launch apparatus enters the final phase of the decades-old shuttle programme.

By late next year, NASA hopes to have completed the build-out of the orbiting International Space Station so it can retire the shuttles. In their place, a new spacecraft is being built that will be available in 2015 at the earliest.

Delayed takeoffs are common with space shuttle missions. The last shuttle to blast off, Endeavour, only did so in July after five scrubbed missions due to technical problems and bad weather.

The current planned 13-day mission is designed to transport new equipment and experiments to the International Space Station (ISS). Astronaut Nicole Stott is expected to relieve Timothy Kopra aboard the ISS, and three spacewalks are planned for the mission.

Discovery's crew for this mission includes six Americans and Swede Christer Fuglesang, flying for the European Space Agency.

How to prepare for software testing interview

What you need to know about software testing?

First basic thing - Testing Concepts: One needs to be very good at this especially the manual testing methodologies.  But only knowing different testing concepts is half work done. The next - most important thing is to know which type/technique/concept of testing can be applied at what stage of SDLC.

"What should I test and when" is very important. There might be some concepts, which are not applicable to what we, professional test in our company, but it's always better to have an idea of all testing practices.

Many freshers and working testing professionals have might not worked on various testing domains like localization testing, time Zone testing etc. But knowing more than what you have worked on will help you better answering the different questions from the interviewer. I always try to keep my testing knowledge updated besides my current project work. This helped me a lot while switching my job some years ago. What if an interviewer asks you question on topic, which you have never worked on? For example you don't have any experience on web based projects or client server testing and interviewer asks you to test "Yahoo mail application". Will you be able to answer this question? You can. Even you have not worked on this type of projects. How? Your curiosity to learn the things you never done before will help you in this case. So broaden your thinking area, be curious in every work and every query you face in your daily work routine.

Knowing more is harmless and will definitely help you at least to give your thoughts on the questions asked by interviewer.

If you don't know any testing concept, e.g. "Localization testing", then try to learn the concepts first. Like - what would be localization testing? It's simple; Test if the application looks local for you while using. Then go on exploring. See for used colors, content, images, culture etc, Different countries, locales have it in different way. Consider a web site that reads from right to left, is it accepted in countries other than Middle East? Obviously NO. Or can you display the same geo specific content in India what you can display in US? Again NO. This is just a simple example how you can learn unknown testing concepts.

The very essential part of a test engineer is "Thinking out of box". If you are not capable of thinking out of box, believe me testing is not for you. What do you mean by thinking out of box? Don't just follow the traditional methods. Implement new things in testing. Try to summarize, automate the routine testing work. Think from user perspective. Think how user will use your application. What common mistakes he can make or which tasks he can perform on your application? This way you will get insight of any application and will also help to answer the questions in depth.

Besides from "curiosity to learn" you should upgrade your skill in following areas:
- Some hands-on on basic database/SQL queries and concepts
- Any basic scripting language (For automation testing)
- Networking and system administration concepts will help you in system domain projects.

Do not just write the UI test cases, check what is happening inside the application. For application having database connection check for data updation, retrieving and in any case there should not be loss of data.

Get hold on project. Know the application under test before starting to test it. Instead of looking in the requirement document, look into the architecture doc, design doc, sequence diagram and activity flow diagram.

Most importantly you need to be perfect in what you mention in your CV. All the questions interviewer asks will be based on what you are specifying in your CV. So do not mention the skills you have not worked on, just for the sake of decorating the CV with multiple skills.

The key point in interview is, You should make interviewer feel that it was a complex application you were testing and had lot many challenges in it for a tester!

And one last thing - If you don't know answer for a question, say so. Don't fool around and get into trouble.

If you have any query on "preparation for testing interview" then comment it below.

Types of software Testing

The following post will tell you about the different type of software testing techniques.

Software Testing Types:

Black box testing - Internal system design is not considered in this type of testing. Tests are based on requirements and functionality.

White box testing - This testing is based on knowledge of the internal logic of an application's code. Also known as Glass box Testing. Internal software and code working should be known for this type of testing. Tests are based on coverage of code statements, branches, paths, conditions.

Unit testing - Testing of individual software components or modules. Typically done by the programmer and not by testers, as it requires detailed knowledge of the internal program design and code. may require developing test driver modules or test harnesses.

Incremental integration testing - Bottom up approach for testing i.e continuous testing of an application as new functionality is added; Application functionality and modules should be independent enough to test separately. done by programmers or by testers.

Integration testing - Testing of integrated modules to verify combined functionality after integration. Modules are typically code modules, individual applications, client and server applications on a network, etc. This type of testing is especially relevant to client/server and distributed systems.

Functional testing - This type of testing ignores the internal parts and focus on the output is as per requirement or not. Black-box type testing geared to functional requirements of an application.

System testing - Entire system is tested as per the requirements. Black-box type testing that is based on overall requirements specifications, covers all combined parts of a system.

End-to-end testing - Similar to system testing, involves testing of a complete application environment in a situation that mimics real-world use, such as interacting with a database, using network communications, or interacting with other hardware, applications, or systems if appropriate.

Sanity testing - Testing to determine if a new software version is performing well enough to accept it for a major testing effort. If application is crashing for initial use then system is not stable enough for further testing and build or application is assigned to fix.

Regression testing - Testing the application as a whole for the modification in any module or functionality. Difficult to cover all the system in regression testing so typically automation tools are used for these testing types.

Acceptance testing -Normally this type of testing is done to verify if system meets the customer specified requirements. User or customer do this testing to determine whether to accept application.

Load testing - Its a performance testing to check system behavior under load. Testing an application under heavy loads, such as testing of a web site under a range of loads to determine at what point the system's response time degrades or fails.

Stress testing - System is stressed beyond its specifications to check how and when it fails. Performed under heavy load like putting large number beyond storage capacity, complex database queries, continuous input to system or database load.

Performance testing - Term often used interchangeably with 'stress' and 'load' testing. To check whether system meets performance requirements. Used different performance and load tools to do this.

Usability testing - User-friendliness check. Application flow is tested, Can new user understand the application easily, Proper help documented whenever user stuck at any point. Basically system navigation is checked in this testing.

Install/uninstall testing - Tested for full, partial, or upgrade install/uninstall processes on different operating systems under different hardware, software environment.

Recovery testing - Testing how well a system recovers from crashes, hardware failures, or other catastrophic problems.

Security testing - Can system be penetrated by any hacking way. Testing how well the system protects against unauthorized internal or external access. Checked if system, database is safe from external attacks.

Compatibility testing - Testing how well software performs in a particular hardware/software/operating system/network environment and different combination s of above.

Comparison testing - Comparison of product strengths and weaknesses with previous versions or other similar products.

Alpha testing - In house virtual user environment can be created for this type of testing. Testing is done at the end of development. Still minor design changes may be made as a result of such testing.

Beta testing - Testing typically done by end-users or others. Final testing before releasing application for commercial purpose.

Happy Testing!!!

How to earn more revenue from Google Adsense

Hello frendz Just follow these steps and get the best revenue from your ads

Making money online is the hot trend nowadays. In coming days I am sure you will see many working professional quit their day job and seat at home in their pajamas writing some blog posts to make their living.

There are tremendous opportunities to make money online. Currently Google Adsense is the best option for most of the publishers. Some basic optimization tips can double your Adsense revenue. Two sites having same traffic can have huge adsense revenue difference depending on the ad optimization.

Follow these simple Adsense optimization tips. Experiment for at least two weeks to see the results. Believe me I am not exaggerating because I am experimenting with Adsense on my different sites since long time and these are nothing but some practical and ethical tips to increase your Adsense revenue.

This is hard core material about increasing the Adsense revenue and not possible for anyone to double the income just overnight. I am not promoting or supporting any tricks to fool Adsense code.

Before beginning the tips story let's have some Google policy recap:

According to Adsense policy don't do these things:
1) Do not click on your own Adsense ads by any way.
2) Do not increase Adsense ad impressions with some automating tools.
3) Don't ask others to click on your ads.
4) Don't alter the Adsense code other than fonts and colors.
5) Don't put Adsnese code on adult or prohibited content.

Now you know the things that are against the Google Adsense policy.

Here are some simple and "any one can follow" tips to optimize Adsense ads:

1) Blend your ads effectively with your site theme. Match your Adsense colors with your site colors.

2) Do not use borders to your text ads. Ads without border and matching background with site background color always perform well over other ad units.

3) Have some Ad color themes that perform best with your site. At least 2-3 well performing ad color formats should be ok. Rotate your ad units with these color themes. This is just to avoid Ad blindness.

4) Use link units in your site. Link units near site navigation links can perform well. Other advantages of link units are - you don't need too much Ad space on your site and link units are not annoying to users.

5) Use Google site-specific search box with Adsense. This is the best option other than content targeted ads. You have option to select ad location on your site search result page. Put Adsense ads at the top and bottom of search result page. The best location of Google search box is - top right corner of your site.

6) Place 250×250 size Ad unit at the top of every page or post. If you are using Wordpress hosting then 250×250 text or image ad option should perform best for every site. Don't forget to align this ad unit at right or left side of the post content as shown in the image below.
Use the <DIV Style> tag to align this ad unit. See more details on how to align Adsense ad unit at left or right of post content.

Adsense ad optimization
(Image: Position of Ad units and Search box)

7) Prefer Text ads instead of image ads. This will increase probability of more user interested ads. I will to suggest keep the text and image ad formats for your site. Use text and image ad format for following type of ad formats:
250×250 Square
160×600 wide skyscraper
336×280 large rectangle
300×250 medium rectangle
These are best performing ad units and will also increase your ad inventory.

8 ) Use section targeting to target ads relevant to your site or page content. Section targeting code is nothing but code tag provided by Google to direct their crawler to show relevant ads to page content. Use section targeting code on each page.
Here is the sample section targeting code:

– google_ad_section_start –
Content you want to target.
– google_ad_section_end –

If you want irrelevant content to be ignored, then use following tag:
– google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) –

More details on section targeting can be found here.
Section targeting will increase ad relevancy and thus CTR.

9) Ad placement is important. Place the Adsense ads above the main fold, means user should see your top performing ad units without scrolling down on your site. This will increase Ad CTR.

10) High performing ad slots: Top of left sidebar and top of individual post. Try these ad slots on your site. Use link unit (obviously with blended color) at the top corner of left sidebar and 250×250 or 336×280 Text and image rectangle ad unit in your post content (Align at left or right side of post content).

11) Block low paying and irrelevant ads showing on your site. Use competitive ad filter Adsense feature for this. Do well study before blocking any ad unit. Some times one ad unit can give you $0.01 in one country and same ad unit might give you $1 in other country. So be careful while blocking the ads.

12) Use Google Adsense ad preview tool can help you to view all ads showing on your site and also helpful for blocking irrelevant ads.

13) Keep more white space around your ads. Do not burry your ads somewhere "out of focus" location. Site content should have enough breathing space so as your ad units.

14) Study your keywords. Target ads to these keywords. If you are not using section targeting Adsense feature then don't forget to add your page-targeted keywords in the beginning of your post. Google Adsense crawler generally searches for first one or two paragraphs to target ads to that page.

15) You can increase number of ads to be displayed on your site's main page and individual pages. But please not too many ads.

16) Placing images above or next to the ad units will increase ad visibility and more chances of click on such ads increasing your CTR.

17) Besides the top performers I mentioned in tip no 10, you can use following "heatmap" provided by Google to analyze other top performing ad placement slots. See the Image below. Ad slots with dark color are hot spots than the faint ones.

Adsense heatmap

(Image: Google Adsense heat map)

18) Track all ad performance using Channels. Channels are nothing but individual ad units, which you can track for performance. Study the Adsense revenue report in detail.  Don't keep on changing ad formats, colors and placements every one or two days. Track the ad unit placement at least for 2 weeks to judge the ad slot performance.

19) Optimize your site for search engines. SEO is the key point for high traffic websites. Moreover traffic from search engines can convert well in case of Adsense ads. Users coming from search engines are clicking more on your Adsense ads than regular readers.

20) Ads placed in-between the content perform well. But keep in mind this can be annoying to your site readers. So avoid too much of blended ads in content.
If you have small posts then put ads at the top of the page content. If you have big post then ad units placed at the bottom or middle of the post can perform well. Do not use skyscraper ads in post content.

21) Test, Test and Test to work it best!!!

So integrating Adsense ads into your site content is the key point for high revenue from Google Adsense.

I am sure if you read every tip carefully and follow these tips you are not long away from doubling your Adsense revenue.

Adsense ads just below your blog post title not allowed

In spite of reminding many times by Google about Adsense ad placement and optimization, If you are not following the Google Adsense terms then your Adsense account might get banned.

Here are two Adsense optimization tips that Google advised to avoid:

1. Ads shouldn't be placed under a title or section heading in a way that implies that the ads are not ads.

2. Ads should be easily distinguishable from surrounding content.

Adsense team always point out if some publishers are not following their TOS. Recently popular blogger QOT got email from Adsense team pointing out issue of placing Adsense ads just below the post title.

Google team is kind enough to inform any such issues.  But in spite of couple of warnings if you are still violating their TOS then Google has no other option than banning your site for Adsense.

Workaround for this:

No doubt, Adsense ads placed just below the post title are high paying ads with higher CTR.  And if you don't want to lose this revenue then you have one workaround for this. Just put an 'Advertisement' label above these Adsense ads. Adsense team is ok with this.

Though we are not yet clear about the ads wrapped at left or right corner of post content just below the post title. Still avoid placing left aligned Adsense ads below post titles.

Reader’s Digest files for bankruptcy

San Francisco, Aug 24 (DPA) Reader's Digest, once a favourite monthly magazine found in doctors' offices and on coffee tables in millions of homes in the US and around the world, filed for bankruptcy Monday as part of a restructuring deal announced last week.
The deal will see lenders swap $1.6 billion in debt for a 92.5-percent stake in the restructured firm with the remaining shares reserved for the board and senior management. The deal cuts the company's debt from $2.2 billion to $550 million and does not include any of the company's foreign subsidiaries, many of which remain profitable.

The magazine is the latest of several debt-laden media companies in the US to succumb to the recession, which is also weighing on most major newspapers. The big media casualties this year include the Chicago Sun-Times, which filed for bankruptcy in March, and Denver's Rocky Mountain News, which shut down in February.

Reader's Digest was acquired in a leveraged buyout in 2007 by the private equity firm of Ripplewood Holdings for $1.6 billion. Ripplewood Holdings' investment is now wiped out and its lenders, JP Morgan Chase and Company, will take control of the company.

Reader's Digest, with headquarters in Pleasantville, New York, has had a storied history since it began publishing the pocket-sized magazine in the early 1920s. At its peak the magazine sold 18 million copies, which were translated into several foreign languages.

Like other US publications hit hard by the worsening economy in past years, Reader's Digest has faced circulation declines as readers switched to special interest publications.

How to Remove Regsvr.exe Virus

Regsvr.exe:

Regsvr.exe is identified as a worm that was first detected around 2007-08. This worm is usually detected along with the Newfolder.exe. Similar to the Newfolder.exe, this worm also spreads with the help of pen drives. When the flash drive is inserted into the infected system, the regsvr.exe immediately creates a copy of itself in the USB and also an autorun.inf file with the help of which it can launch in the target's system. This virus is capable of editing the registry and autoexecuting itself at the system startup. It generally resides in the Windows/ system32 directory. However, it can be removed by scanning the pen drive using a good antivirus or simply opening the USB using the Windows Command Prompt. Using a good firewall is recommended to prevent viruses like this one. Anyway, here is a simple manual removal method to this virus.

  • The worm launches a process with the names Newfolder.exe, server.exe, AT1.exe. Make sure that you kill these processes first.
  •   Now go to the control panel -> scheduled tasks, and delete the task of launching this process.
  • Traverse to the Windows/ system32 folder and delete the file from there.
  • You are almost done. Now go to Start -> Run and type regedit and go to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

  • Edit Shell ="Explorer.exe regsvr.exe" and delete the regsvr.exe from the registry.
  • Now you are free from the virus.

How to remove ads from Orkut

Recently Orkut moved the ad placement in the upper right corner. Earlier the place was used to display the friends list, but now you can only see someone selling weight loss products there.

remove advertisements from orkut

Like me, you are probably very annoyed with this move, since its almost an habit to click there to search friends. I think this may be one of the reason why Orkut moved the ads there, they'll be clicked more often because of the habit of Orkut's users.

Well, now you can easily remove the ad. All you have to do is to use the Orkut Advertising Banner Remover Firefox addon. Obviously you need firefox installed to use this addon. Get Firefox here. Now go to the addon's page from Firefox browser and click on the Add to Firefox button.

That's it. You'll never see that ad again.

Enjoy!

What to do when someone steals your contents

Read this post about How to react and deal with the contents duplicated by someone else which were originally yours.

Some useful tips on dealing with the duplicate content issues.

Duplicate content is one big issue across the internet, there are many geeks out there who just believe in copy and paste theory of the content and steal content from other websites. The stealing of the content causes substantial downfall in search engine page ranking of a website. As a webmaster or a blogger you must know how to deal with the duplicate content issue.

What is duplicate content?

Same set of content present across the same or different domains. Copied content reduces the reputation of a web page on search engines. The ranking is also pushed down by search engines as a penalty of copying content.

Useful tips for bloggers and webmasters:

  • If your blog content is also available on some other blog or web page then make sure that there is a backlink to the original article source so that the search engines will know the source of original article and your contents originality will also be maintained along with a beneficial backlink to your blog.
  • Make sure you don't use same meta tags for all your web pages in your blog because it comes under duplicate meta content and search engines can also penalize your blog for this also. Use different descriptive meta tags for your different blog pages.
  • Use your webmasters tool to analyze the duplicate content within your domain.
  • Don't worry too much about you content being copied by some freaks across internet. If you find out your content is being copied by someone then ask him to remove the content or give a link to the original source of the article. If still someone is persistent to copy your content then you can always file a DMCA request to claim the ownership of your blog.

50 Interview Questions And Answers

Very Important Please Dont Miss it.

Review these typical interview questions and think about how you would answer them. Read the questions listed; you will also find some strategy suggestions with it.

1. Tell me about yourself?

Ans : The most often asked question in interviews. You need to have a short statement prepared in your mind. Be careful that it does not sound rehearsed. Limit it to work-related items unless instructed otherwise. Talk about things you have done and jobs you have held that relate to the position you are interviewing for. Start with the item farthest back and work up to the present.

2. Why did you leave your last job?

Ans: Stay positive regardless of the circumstances. Never refer to a majorproblem with management and never speak ill of supervisors, co-workers or the organization. If you do, you will be the one looking bad. Keep smiling and talk about leaving for a positive reason such as an opportunity, a chance to do something special or other forward-looking reasons.

3. What experience do you have in this field?

Ans: Speak about specifics that relate to the position you are applying for. If you do not have specific experience, get as close as you can.

4. Do you consider yourself successful?

Ans:You should always answer yes and briefly explain why. A good explanation is that you have set goals, and you have met some and are on track to achieve the others.

5. What do co-workers say about you?

Ans: Be prepared with a quote or two from co-workers. Either a specific statement or a paraphrase will work. Jill Clark, a co-worker at Smith Company, always said I was the hardest workers she had ever known. It is as powerful as Jill having said it at the interview herself.

6. What do you know about this organization?

This question is one reason to do some research on the organization before the interview. Find out where they have been and where they are going. What are the current issues and who are the major players?

7.. What have you done to improve your knowledge in the last year?

Try to include improvement activities that relate to the job. A wide variety of activities can be mentioned as positive self-improvement. Have some good ones handy to mention.

8. Are you applying for other jobs?

Be honest but do not spend a lot of time in this area. Keep the focus on this job and what you can do for this organization. Anything else is a distraction.

9. Why do you want to work for this organization?

This may take some thought and certainly, should be based on the research you have done on the organization. Sincerity is extremely important here and will easily be sensed... Relate it to your long-term career goals.

10. Do you know anyone who works for us?

Be aware of the policy on relatives working for the organization. This can affect your answer even though they asked about friends not relatives. Be careful to mention a friend only if they are well thought of.

11. What is your Expected Salary?

A loaded question. A nasty little game that you will probably lose if you answer first. So, do not answer it. Instead, say something like, That's a tough question. Can you tell me the range for this position? In most cases, the interviewer, taken off guard, will tell you. If not, say that it can depend on the details of the job. Then give a wide range.

12. Are you a team player?

You are, of course, a team player. Be sure to have examples ready. Specifics that show you often perform for the good of the team rather than for yourself are good evidence of your team attitude. Do not brag, just say it in a matter-of-fact tone. This is a key point..

13. How long would you expect to work for us if hired?

Specifics here are not good. Something like this should work: I'd like it to be a long time. Or As long as we both feel I'm doing a good job.

14. Have you ever had to fire anyone?

How did you feel about that? This is serious. Do not make light of it or in any way seem like you like to fire people. At the same time, you will do it when it is the right thing to do. When it comes to the organization versus the individual who has created a harmful situation, you will protect the organization. Remember firing is not the same as layoff or reduction in force.

15. What is your philosophy towards work?

The interviewer is not looking for a long or flowery dissertation here. Do you have strong feelings that the job gets done? Yes. That's the type of answer that works best here. Short and positive, showing a benefit to the organization.

16. If you had enough money to retire right now, would you?

Answer yes if you would. But since you need to work, this is the type of work you prefer. Do not say yes if you do not mean it.

17. Have you ever been asked to leave a position?

If you have not, say no. If you have, be honest, brief and avoid saying negative things about the people or organization involved.

18. Explain how you would be an asset to this organization ?

You should be anxious for this question. It gives you a chance to highlight your best points as they relate to the position being discussed. Give a little advance thought to this relationship. .

19. Why should we hire you?

Point out how your assets meet what the organization needs. Do not mention any other candidates to make a comparison..

20. Tell me about a suggestion you have made ?

Have a good one ready. Be sure and use a suggestion that was accepted and was then considered successful. One related to the type of work applied for is a real plus.

21. What irritates you about co-workers?

This is a trap question. Think real hard but fail to come up with anything that irritates you. A short statement that you seem to get along with folks is great.

22. What is your greatest strength?

Numerous answers are good, just stay positive. A few good examples: Your ability to prioritize, Your problem-solving skills, Your ability to work under pressure, Your ability to focus on projects, Your professional expertise, Your leadership skills, Your positive attitude

23. Tell me about your dream job ?

Stay away from a specific job. You cannot win. If you say the job you are contending for is it, you strain credibility. If you say another job is it, you plant the suspicion that you will be dissatisfied with this position if hired. The best is to stay genetic and say something like: A job where I love the work, like the people, can contribute andcan't wait to get to work.

24. Why do you think you would do well at this job?

Give several reasons and include skills, experience and interest.

25. What are you looking for in a job?

See answer # 23

26. What kind of person would you refuse to work with?

Do not be trivial. It would take disloyalty to the organization, violence or lawbreaking to get you to object. Minor objections will label you as a whiner.

27. What is more important to you: the money or the work?

Money is always important, but the work is the most important. There is no better answer.

28. What would your previous supervisor say your strongest point is?

There are numerous good possibilities: Loyalty, Energy, Positive attitude, Leadership, Team player, Expertise,Initiativ e, Patience, Hard work, Creativity, Problem solver

29. Tell me about a problem you had with a supervisor?

Biggest trap of all. This is a test to see if you will speak ill of your boss. If you fall for it and tell about a problem with a former boss, you may well below the interview right there. Stay positive and develop a poor memory about any trouble with a supervisor.

30. What has disappointed you about a job?

Don't get trivial or negative. Safe areas are few but can include: Not enough of a challenge. You were laid off in a reduction Company did not win a contract, which would have given you more responsibility.

31. Tell me about your ability to work under pressure.

You may say that you thrive under certain types of pressure. Give an example that relates to the type of position applied for.

32. Do your skills match this job or another job more closely?

Probably this one. Do not give fuel to the suspicion that you may want another job more than this one.

33. What motivates you to do your best on the job?

This is a personal trait that only you can say, but good examples are: Challenge, Achievement, Recognition

34. Are you willing to work overtime? Nights? Weekends?

This is up to you. Be totally honest.

35. How would you know you were successful on this job?

Several ways are good measures: You set high standards for yourself and meet them. Your outcomes are a success. Your boss tell you that you are successful

36. Would you be willing to relocate if required?

You should be clear on this with your family prior to the interview if you think there is a chance it may come up. Do not say yes just to get the job if the real answer is no. This can create a lot of problems later on in your career. Be honest at this point and save yourself future grief.

37. Are you willing to put the interests of the organization ahead of your own?

This is a straight loyalty and dedication question. Do not worry about the deep ethical and philosophical implications. Just say yes.

38. Describe your management style ?

Try to avoid labels. Some of the more common labels, like progressive, salesman or consensus, can have several meanings or descriptions depending on which management expert you listen to. The situational style is safe, because it says you will manage according to the situation, instead of one size fits all.

39. What have you learned from mistakes on the job?

Here you have to come up with something or you strain credibility. Make it small, well intentioned mistake with a positive lesson learned. An example would be working too far ahead of colleagues on a project and thus throwing coordination off.

40. Do you have any blind spots?

Trick question. If you know about blind spots, they are no longer blind spots. Do not reveal any personal areas of concern here. Let them do their own discovery on your bad points. Do not hand it to them.

41. If you were hiring a person for this job, what would you look for?

Be careful to mention traits that are needed and that you have.

42. Do you think you are overqualified for this position?

Regardless of your qualifications, state that you are very well qualified for the position.

43. How do you propose to compensate for your lack of experience?

First, if you have experience that the interviewer does not know about, bring that up: Then, point out (if true) that you are a hard working quick learner.

44. What qualities do you look for in a boss?

Be generic and positive. Safe qualities are knowledgeable, a sense of humor, fair, loyal to subordinates and holder of high standards. All bosses think they have these traits.

45. Tell me about a time when you helped resolve a dispute ?

between others. Pick a specific incident. Concentrate on your problem solving technique and not the dispute you settled.

46. What position do you prefer on a team working on a project?

Be honest. If you are comfortable in different roles, point that out.

47. Describe your work ethic ?

Emphasize benefits to the organization. Things like, determination to get the job done and work hard but enjoy your work are good.

48. What has been your biggest professional disappointment?

Be sure that you refer to something that was beyond your control. Show acceptance and no negative feelings.

49. Tell me about the most fun you have had on the job.

Talk about having fun by accomplishing something for the organization.

50. Do you have any questions for me?

Always have some questions prepared. Questions prepared where you will be an asset to the organization are good. How soon will I be able to be productive? and What type of projects will I be able to assist on? are examples.

And Finally Best of Luck Hope you will be successful in the interview you are going to face in coming days.

"Never take some one for granted,Hold every person Close to your Heart because you might wake up one day and realise that you have lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones." Remember this always in life.
